EPISODE14 - Talking 80s Music with Martin Hennessy

Ahhh, our first episode recap and we've just finished uploading the latest podcast. The episode went well and was shorter than last week but that is because we didn't have the callers. Maybe another give-away is in order. We'll see. we're not against callers as Martin loves to talk and learn more about what you 80s nuts are interested in. After talking with our callers last week, we noticed that we have neglected some music genres. So this week, we featured metal.

You can find out more information about Y&T and Dave Meniketti at their official Web site. This episode we featured songs from Volume 1 and Volume 2 of their recent Unearthed CDs. Still amazes us that even the demos and unreleased tracks sound so good. Martin really likes the song, "Wild If I Wanna," and it seems to fit his personality pretty well. Feel free to tell us what you think of the tracks in the comments area. Until next week...

EPISODE13 - Talking 80s Music with Martin Hennessy

This week we went a bit wild. We talked with one of our callers (about classic drummers) and another about music production and the business for a bit before delving into the musical legacy of Toad The Wet Sprocket. We featured their live version of "One Little Girl" before going into examples of the splinter work of members Glen Phillips (live version of "Drive By") and Todd Nichols' project Lapdog ("Mayfly.) Our longest show to-date but we still included our standard music news, new release information and sarcastic commentary in what is so far our longest podcast to date. We also gave away a copy of the latest Heaven 17 release, Before After, to the first caller. (They just happened to call in prior to the recording.)

The length of this show created some issues. We hadn't gotten as advanced as to be able to play the songs during the show so we had to edit it in later. This was interesting as it turned into a humongous download. So the audio quality on our discussions are questionable but we had to make it under the 100MB cut off.

EPISODE12 - Talking 80s Music with Martin Hennessy

Music news, upcoming CD release information and commentary. Oh, can't forget... it's St. Patrick's Day so a Hennessy has to go into a bit of his roots. This went into a rambling about the contributions of the Irish in 80s Music. We played a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Paint It, Black" by possibly the most successful 80s act from the green isle and Clannad's "Closer To Your Heart."

EPISODE10 - Talking 80s Music with Martin Hennessy

This was a bit of a tough week as Martin was getting over bronchitis. We never really considered what would happen if the show's voice lost its... errr voice.  Luckily, not too much work as it was a basic music news and commentary week. We did babble a little about how an artist is defined as being an '80s artist.' Of course, we mean the sonic palate and recorded canvas.
