EPISODE80 - Talking 80s Music with Martin Hennessy

This week we will featured songs ("Appetite," "When Love Breaks Down," "Faron Young" and "If You Don't Love Me") from the 39-track double-disc Music Club Deluxe collection, Kings Of Rock And Roll: The Best Of Prefab Sprout. For some reason their song-craft never caught on in the States but well worth your investigating. (Heck, Thomas Dolby produced two of their albums.) One thing that I didn't mention during the episode was the inclusion of some great B-sides and how extensively this covers their career. Can't find it in the U.S. unless it's as an import... so why not import it yourself at their the link above.

In the quest to provide even more current news during our show, we have moved the 80s Nuts newsletter from late Monday to Friday evening. Previously, there was a 4 day gap in news coverage and often some stories would fall through the cracks (as we often were thrown off on upcoming events we mentioned on Monday that would take place before the show on Saturday -- making them less noteworthy.) To make all this happen, we had to cram 4 more days of news into the show. Fridays and Saturdays are going to be busy around here.

We did have some glitches early in the show. We tested out some new software. This explains why some live listeners heard silence during the first 15 minutes of the show. One good thing about the software was that it still recorded the show and nothing was lost. It just stinks for the 7 people who downloaded the show before the cleaner version went up.
