It isn't often that the show falls on Martin's birthday. So we let him pretty much loose. We were pretty close to a record number of calls but a majority of them came from new additions to his family (he got married in March and the wife put a plan in motion.) So, it gets a little mushy but you'll get over it.
We also played some songs you aren't likely to hear much on the radio. Mondo Rock's "Primitive Love Rites," Thelonious Monster's "So What If I Did," Coldcut's "Stop This Crazy Thing" featuring Junior Reed, Britny Fox's "Girlschool" and a last minute request of Depeche Mode's "Pleasure Little Treasure" rounded out a very eclectic collection of 80s tracks. More songs than we've ever crammed into one show and not likely to happen again. Thank you to all those that called in and emailed their birthday wishes.
It seems that we also had some technical difficulties early on as our call from Stacy bled into (overlapped) the news segment and left a empty gap behind it. Very odd. We've been working to try to avoid issues like this and will keep on our toes in the future. For the sake of audio quality, we left it in there.
