EPISODE106 - Talking 80s Music with Martin Hennessy

On this week's episode of Talking 80s Music, we started the year a bit heavier with a few songs ("Grandma Dynamite" and "Room 9") from funk metal act 24-7 Spyz's album, Live: Can You Hear The Sound?, as well as "Pillage" off of their 1989 debut, Harder Than You. Just think Living Color but a bit grittier. It is interesting how many different artists that you can imagine hearing in their music.

What we thought would be a really short episode due to less news ('tis the season and all) wound up going longer than appeared in the final version. What many of you missed was a great discussion with Totally80sOnline.com's Aaron about plans for the online station this new year, songs/artists that push the border of the decade (from both ends) and the many different ways people are interacting with him (check out his new Facebook page.) Sadly, we had bleeding in the audio streams (incoming and outgoing) that overlapped making it sound like we were talking over each other. (I'm blaming the dual processor x64 Vista setup.) So, it looks like we will be avoiding call-in guests for awhile until it gets rectified and resort to recording some of these calls as we do our interviews. We'll have him on the show again soon to make up for it.
